2017 Award Nominations Available

The Nebraska Agribusiness Club would like to announce that nomination forms for the Public Service to Agriculture and New Horizon awards are now available.

Public Service to Agriculture Award has been presented annually since 1967. The award recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to Nebraska agriculture and Nebraska agribusiness.

New Horizon Award is an award that recognizes individuals 40 years of age and younger who are upcoming leaders in the agricultural industry.

Nominations for both awards are due by July 31, 2017. Nominations are encouraged from non-club members, as well as club members. The nomination forms and more information can be found at the links below or by emailing nebraskaagribusinessclub@gmail.com.

Club Tour on June 5, 2017

Join the Nebraska Agribusiness Club on Monday, June 5th as we tour different agricultural facilities west of Lincoln. Members participation is included with your membership; non members must pay $20 for the tour.

May 1st Lunch-n-Learn with Scott Young of Food Bank of Lincoln

April 3rd ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ with John Heaston of Aquamart

Join us for the April 3rd ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ meeting at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherry Creek Road, Lincoln, NE.

John Heaston with Aquamart will discuss the new program starting from the Nebraska Water Balance Alliance (NEWBA). They are focused on linking targeted on-farm water management practices to the larger framework of water use, conservation, and management across the state.

March 6th ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ with Dr. Rod Moxley from UNL

Join us for the March 6th ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ meeting at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Center Creek Road, Lincoln, NE.

Dr. Rod Moxley from UNL will be speaking about the $25 million STEC CAP Grant, UNL has managed for the past five years. The grant involves coordinating 17 other universities, the USDA, and other government institutions to show how Shiga-Toxin producing E. Coli gets into our food supply. November 17th Fall Social

Join us for our fall social, a fundraiser for the Cedars Youth Services at Firespring at 1201 Infinity Court, Lincoln, NE 68512 on Thursday, November 17th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

There will be a drinks and appetizers enjoy while socializing and playing games such as foosball, shuffle board, pool, and table tennis.

Please RSVP below by November 14th. Members and guest are asked to pay $25 each. All money will be donated to Cedars for Holiday presents for needy families.

50th Annual Banquet – November 3rd

The Nebraska Agribusiness Club invites you to the 50th Annual Banquet! We will be honoring two individuals for the Public Service to Agriculture Award and one for the New Horizon Award.

The banquet will be Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Hillcrest Country Club, 9401 O Street, Lincoln, NE 68527. Reception starts at 5:30 p.m.

We ask that you please reserve your seat(s) by October 21st for $30 per seat. After October 21st through the day of the event, seats increase to $35.
