The Nebraska Agribusiness Club will be honoring two individuals for the Public Service to Agriculture Award and one for the New Horizon Award.

The banquet will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Hillcrest Country Club, 9401 O Street, Lincoln, NE  68520. Reception starts at 5:30 pm with dinner starting at 6:30 pm. Entertainment to be announced!

We ask that you please reserve your seats by October 23rd for $25 per ticket. After October 23rd until the day of the event, tickets prices increase to $30.

2015 NE ABC Membership Application

All memberships will be $100.  Membership benefits: all networking and educational lunch and learn meetings, summer meeting/social, annual tour and one free lunch card for a guest.  Fall social and annual banquet are NOT included, tickets will be sold separately.

***We ask that all members RSVP to all events to help with meal count planning***

Non-members pay $20 each for monthly Lunch and Learn meetings, summer meeting/social and annual tour.

2014 Summary:

• The club met seven times for Lunch and Learn networking and educational opportunities. Meetings typically are held the first Monday of the month at the Lancaster County Extension Educational Center, 444 Cherry Creek Road, Lincoln.  Lunch registration starts at 11:30 am with the meeting concluding at 1:00 pm.    All paid members received one Free Lunch Card to give to a guest.
• A complete list of 2014 Lunch and Learn meetings can be found at org. Speakers included a farmer/rancher panel, representatives from B&R Stores, Oxbow Animal Health, Zoetis, Central Nebraska Public Power, etc.
• During Ag Week, a matching grant of $5,000 was raised for the Food Bank.
• On the one-day summer bus tour, members and guests, toured Rotella’s Bakery Plant, Midwest Labs, Farm Credit Services, Claas Manufacturing and concluded with a stop at Nebraska Brewing Company.
• The summer meeting/social in August was during a Saltdogs baseball game.
• The Club adopted a Cedar’s family for Christmas and held a social in November as a fundraiser
• 3 honorees were recognized at the 48^th Annual Banquet in November.

Social at James Arthur Vineyards – November 13th

The Nebraska Agribusiness Club will hold a fundraiser for Cedars Youth Services at James Arthur Vineyards on Thursday, November 13th from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Barb and Jim Ballard will host our club for an afterhours tour of James Arthur Nebraska’s Largest Vineyard and pair about 4-5 wine selections with food provided by their caterer.

There will be a $15 free will donation asked to be donated to everyone who attends the event to raise money for Holidays gifts for needy families from Cedars Children. Feel free to bring family or guest – all participants, regardless of membership, will be asked to give for the fundraiser.

Club hears from Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District

The Nebraska Agribusiness Club met for the October meeting yesterday to hear from Jeff Buettner, Public Relations Coordinator from Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District (CNPPID). Jeff shared about the integrated water management approach they take to the water projects they manage.
