Dean of Extension shares areas of focus, new outreach

At the Monday meeting of the Nebraska Agribusiness Club, Dean of Extension, Dr. Chuck Hibberd, gave a great insight to the way Extension Educators are helping the agricultural communities across the state.

Hibberd first shared about the role of the county agent in 1953 and how it looks a little different today in 2013 as an Extension Educator. The tools of the trade have changed for these educators as well.IMG_1018

He noted six areas that the Extension program are trying to focus on: Beef; Child and Youth; Crops for the Future; Entrepreneurship; Food, Nutrition and Health; and Water and the Environment.
