August 9th Lincoln Saltdogs Game Club Social

Join the Nebraska Agribusiness Club at the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball game on Thursday, August 9th at 6:45 p.m. vs. Texas AirHogs.

The club has a suite donated by Alpha Media! Your ticket will include your seat in the suite with snacks available.

This social is free for members and $20 for non-members, guests, and children. This is a family friendly event and great place for kids.

Please RSVP below by Friday, August 3rd by end of day to reserve your tickets for you and your family/guest. Seats are limited in the suite. We will have a club officer outside the main entrance by the large baseballs between 6:00-6:30 p.m. to pick up your ticket(s) unless other arrangements are made.

We look forward to seeing you all out at the ballgame!

2018 Award Nominations Available

The Nebraska Agribusiness Club would like to announce that nomination forms for the Public Service to Agriculture and New Horizon awards are now available.

Public Service to Agriculture Award has been presented annually since 1967. The award recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to Nebraska agriculture and Nebraska agribusiness.

New Horizon Award is an award that recognized individuals 40 years of age and younger who are upcoming leaders in the agricultural industry.

Nominations for both awards are due by July 15, 2018. Nominations are encouraged from non-club members, as well as club members. The nomination forms and more information can be found in the links below or by emailing nebraskaagribusinessclub@gmail.com.

April 2nd Lunch-n-Learn with Lincoln Premium Poultry

Join us for the April 2nd ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ meeting at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherry Creek Road, Lincoln, NE.

Lincoln Premium Poultry Speakers – Jessica Kolterman & Walt Shafer of Lincoln Premium Poultry which is a Nebraska-based company created in collaboration with Costco Wholesale to source and process chickens in Nebraska through local Nebraska farmers. Costco is currently in the process of building a state-of-the-art processing facility, feed mill, and hatchery in the industrial park in Fremont, NE. At peak production, the new facility will process roughly 2 million chickens per week, grown on approximately 125-150 farms around the region, and will employ between 800-1000 people. Walt Shafer (a chicken farmer) serves as the COO and project manager of Lincoln Premium Poultry. Walt’s poultry experience spans over three decades. At one point in his career, he was responsible for over 26 production facilities at one time. Additionally, Walt is a chicken farmer and has four of his own barns at his home in his home state of Virginia.

Please come to hear about the largest economic development project ever in Nebraska and ask questions of how this project will benefit the producers within 100 miles of their high-tech state of the art facility in Fremont, NE.

November 14th Fall Social

Join us for our fall social, a fundraiser for the Cedars Youth Services at Code Brewing Company at 200 S Antelope Valley Pkwy, Lincoln, NE 68508 (parking is available behind Code Brewing Company) on Tuesday, November 14th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

There will be drinks, appetizers, and cupcakes to enjoy, followed by a tour of the brewery at 6:00 p.m.

Please RSVP below by November 12th for food count. Members and guest are asked to pay $25 each. All moneys will be donated to Cedars for Holiday presents for needy families.
