The Nebraska Agribusiness Club celebrated National Ag Day, March 25, with an event put on with help from KX96.9 and Russ’s Market. In addition to supporting Russ’s Market’s 50th Anniversary, the club helped promote National Ag Day and Russ’s Market commitment to “Real. Local. Proud to support our Nebraska Growers and Producers.”
During our event, we had representatives from all across Nebraska’s agricultural industry. Prairieland Dairy had milk and cheese samples, Nebraska Pork Producers parked their wrapped bus in front of the store and had samples of pork tenderloin, the Nebraska Beef Council had tasty steak samples, Nebraska Soybean Board – Bean Team shared smoothies, Nebraska Corn Board handed out popcorn samples, Nebraska Wheat Board had cookies, and CommonGround volunteers gave kids pencils and shared with consumers recipes while having conversations about their farm and food.
The Food Bank of Lincoln was also on hand as well to promote the Nebraska Agribusiness Club’s offer to DOUBLE your DOLLARS (up to $5000). More exciting info on this to come!

For National Ag Week, the Nebraska Agribusiness Club has been out sharing the great story of agriculture…LIVE! On Monday, NAC members were on the radio with 92.9 The Eagle, KX 96.9 and KFOR 1240 AM! You might be hearing some great commercials this week sponsored by NAC as well.
The country music station, KX 96.9 sent a special e-note to their listeners, helping us share our story:
On the home webpage of 92.9 The Eagle, viewers can click right on the National Ag Week logo:

How are you celebrating National Ag Week, and National Ag Day on Thursday?
National Agriculture Week is quickly approaching and we are in the final planning stages for our club’s activities!
To kick off the week on Monday, March 5th, a club officer will do a live interview on 96KX, 1240KFOR and 92.9 The Eagle in the 8 am hour. The officer will share some important information about Nebraska agriculture and the club, plus will be giving away prize packages for callers to call in and win!
National Agriculture Day is Thursday, March 8th and we’re celebrating in a BIG way — with a LIVE radio remote at Super Saver on 48th and O St, from 4pm to 6pm. As a member, this is an opportunity for you and your organization to promote, promote, promote! Bring in koozies, recipe cards, pens, educational information, coupons or ANYTHING that you would like to share with Lincoln consumers. ALMOST ANYTHING GOES! For example, the Department of Agriculture is participating at this event by bringing staff members, as well as members of the Nebraska Agriculture Youth Council to distribute information and answer questions in the store. The folks at Prairieland Dairy are also coming with a dairy calf (in the parking lot) — HOW EXCITING IS THAT! This live remote can be bigger and better with more of our club members being involved!
If you and your business or organization plan on participating in the live remote in some way, or have additional questions, please talk with Kyla — firstname.lastname@example.org or 308-529-2880 (cell).
